IGNORANCE IS THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY OF HUMANITY.
NOT POLITICS, RELIGION OR ETHNICITY.
And according to one of my models, Reno Omokri, Ignorance is actually not the absence of knowledge but knowledge ignored. However, one thing you will always observe about an Ignorant is actually not his look nor intelligence but emotions.
That is to say, you might be the most intelligent, the most sophisticated, the most beautiful and still be daft. When you let emotions drive your actions.
An emotion is clearly the presence of an overzealous passion. Otherwise, fanatism.
Therefore, religion is not a problem but extremism. Politics is not a problem but greediness. Tribe is not a problem but tribalism.
All these are elements of emotions. Beware of people with those traits. They are always ignorant.
Because their opinion is always correct. In their eyes, there is nothing wrong about their beliefs. And they will do anything to make others share in their belief system compulsorily.
But if you found yourself in that category, try to deal with it. Even though its a question of habit, a consistent challenge of one's thoughts can actually go a long way in changing this psych to personal destruction.
Well, you may be telling yourself that what you feel is loyalty, or sheer brilliance. I like to tell you that this has nothing to do with your personal qualities. In vivid illustration, ignorance is like a blindfold which prevents an eagle from seeing its prey. It is like handcuff which restricts the motions of a man.
An Ignorant mind is like a woman with no womb. Ignorance will deny you your absolute right to consciousness. So that no matter your status, creed or intellect, you will never share in any conviction other than your own.
When this happen, it will send a wrong signal to people about you. You will always appear to the society as though you are aggressive, offensive or defensive. Your firmness will most times be mistaken for ego.
Your intelligence will be questioned, your freedom threatened. You will be your own shadow of misfortune.
But I know I have smart readers. Since a word is enough for the wise, you shouldn't be a victim of this highest height of foolishness.
