Poetry: LADY BE GONE By: Abd'Fatah Olayinka Abd'Samad

The sky twinkles sparkles on blooming flowers,
As the moons sings lullaby for the darkest hours,
Like sweet aroma of golden petals,
And pleasing sight from a glowing mirror...
We were fine together!

You! My sun... Who showers fragrance charm to top my heart,
And I, the ocean... Yet you draw away my innocent top!
You — who lures with sweetest tricks,
And I, who falls for your flawless peeps...
I crave your gaze, and you melted my face
Perhaps we are better apart!

I drowned you in my love well,
Perhaps, I was this to you too,
though your hole I’d not fathom,
However, what was a silky velvet,
Shaped into devil’s horns,
Winter came, you felt weak and flee
It shed thorns in my chest,
Now spring gifts hope and more,
The pricking grips of each winter,
Furnished spring energy to glimmer,
Verily! we are greater apart!

Oh! Lady.... Be gone!
Don't look into my eyes — for you are a liar,
Don't intrude my nights — for you are a coward,
Don't seek refuge in me — for you steal my breath away!
