SATIRE:The Charade (snippet) By: Abdulrazaq Luqman

Aremu, the juju singer, sat in the middle of the traven with his guitar and band crew, standing very close at his back.  He talked the Juju out of his mouth and the drummers beat the skin like it was their last day. The Casanova, Aremu, sighted sir Hugton around the bar from afar and hailed him with his melodious voice as a semi god after Governor Author Richard. He sang this repeatedly into the ear of sir Hugton. Aremu then turned his dancing tongue to Sarah, who he had named his Arewa. She gave a glimpse at her father and cross her legs with her palm below her chin. Sir Hughton who was watching from afar gave a fake smile and called out for his daughter.
“Can we go home now…?” Hughton said jealously
“Oh yes father…” Sarah said and waved to Aremu who was sitting like a lonely man yet surrounded by uniformed crowd. Sarah winked at him. And as if that was enough, she moved closer, gave him a kiss on his left cheek and drop some notes beside his left foot. The drummers jubilated and the aroused more energetically while beating the drum. Aremu smiled and tried to kiss her. She moved three steps backward, staggered and chuckled. She grabbed her blouse and quickly but happily run back to her father who had  been waiting at the exit door since.
“What father!” she asked her angry father…
