To incarcerate an individual
is to deprive him of some manners of freedom. Freedom no doubt, is as
simple as it sounds until one loses it. Clearly, only a divorcee can
successfully chronicle the tales of marriage and its aftermath.
In
other words, a man whose freedom was never tampered with wouldn't have
penned any interesting thoughts about 'Long Walk To Freedom'. Freedom
therefore is an ambiguous statement. Reason being that humans'
conviction about treasure are entirely different.
   With
that, it is safe to conclude that our treasure shapes our choices and
mentality about freedom. Because we all derive certain level of pleasure
from those things that we claim to treasure.  A minute denial of these
pleasure is logically called a lack of freedom.
   This
implies that my biggest treasure could be my time, another's could be
wealth, someone else's could be shelter, family or career. The fear of
losing any of these is called anxiety disorder. Comprehensively put, our
biggest uncertainties stem from financial freedom to family freedom,
career freedom, physical and mental freedom among other variety.

The above is a sharp contradiction of the general belief that only
physical freedom is necessary and in most cases, only those behind bars
are denied freedom. Conspicuously, this is not so.
   With
that clarification, we now understand that anyone, including a jailer
can lose freedom. And as previously established, you won't really
understand the value of what you possess until you lose it. This implies
that freedom means more to those who have at one point or the other in
their lives, lost one.
But what about bondage after freedom?
Ordinarily,
one would have expected any individual who is a beneficiary of an
amnesty scheme or the mercy of the Lord upon a previously suffered
tribulation, to handle the triumph with a needful reflection on his
calamities so as not to fall victim another time. It happens that one
will tentatively nurse the bitterness of a misfortune before the spirit
of forgetfulness forces its way.
   However, that is not even
the argument. The insinuation is of a freed soul whom despite his
salvation, he still gets to nostalgize his days of pre redemption. This
is a person whose sumptuous ideas about freedom have been substituted
with his greatest nightmares.
   That feeling of when a
presumed prisoner becomes a "Don" in the cell, when a poor boy who used
to cry for shelter now finds solace under the bridge. Just like the case
of a beggar who is now comfortable wandering on the street.
The feeling is conspicuously a case of a paradigm shift, which alters an individual's priorities by rechanneling his focus.
The sensation of bondage after freedom is that of despair which makes you lose your bearing.
The
place of bondage after freedom is that of comfort which makes you
forget your actual purpose. The feeling of bondage after freedom is that
of uncertainty which makes you bury your head in shame. This feeling
sets in whenever you experience a setback. It makes you weak. You tend
to lose your positive energy.
But I have a good news!
All you just have to do is go back to the drawing board. Remember. If you can't stand up for yourself, who will?
Please, do very well to ponder and take action on this.
Thanks.
