EDUCATION: The lifelessness of Nigeria education (2) By: Emmanuel Osele George

I would have loved to teach or lecture, because I was taught well or not taught well (some areas), but because I want to make straight the way of a generation.
Another pillar to education is the Teachers.
We have both brilliant and dullard teachers in the system and the mixed grill would not give live to education. Our teachers need to wake up to this century and stop quoting theories of 13th centuries that has changed. Most students are advanced than some teachers and they would still not upgrade themselves.
See, the reason why our education will never see the light is because the students are more exposed than the class philosophy and the teachers/Lecturers would constrain and sizefit them into the archaic curriculum, thus disaster is inevitable. If we indeed want development in our society, classrooms must be instructionally interactive...some students are more vast is what the lecturers/teachers are teaching, still they (teachers) would kill their potential, just for superiority.
Some teachers do read. What they were taught in the 80s is still what they believe is right in 2019, if a student try to let them see the changes, he (student) has entered wàhálà. Our curriculum is outdated, compare what they teach in school with what you see around - what they celebrate in class is the opposite of reality. Not all times, though; except the studious teachers who would go extramile to impart students.
Teachers at all levels should talk to themselves and upgrade, if not, our education will not smell wellness. We are regularly loosing our brains to other countries - brain drain. Students prefer to school abroad, because of the system. Come back for NYSC and take the job from us who were taught with archaic mentality, not all though.
Think about this 👇
Why do we still need to go through 1, 2, 3 month training after employment in the same discipline we spent 4-5 years to study?
Good.
What they teach is class do not and can not meet what is in the field.
Get wisdom! Improve yourself beyond class, shun mediocrity!
See the pictures I attached, when Kaduna government moved to sack some teachers, people protested. Now, be the judge: they conducted simple test for them...see their results. And those are people we commit the lives of innocent students to. Those kinds of people are plenty in our school; from elementary to university...
Teachers and concerned body, please save our future, develop yourself, learn from those who know. Save our tomorrow...you are killing the basic drive of innovation and development.
Try and invent a good idea, the supervisor would condemn it. These people called lecturers, Dr, Prof have killed a lot of innovation and inventions because of their closed minds...open up please!
Apology, if it offends...
Save the future...
