On the said date in court the Hon. Judge made remarks as to how all citizens should be law abiding and good citizens, he stated that it is the duty of the police to protect the citizens and should never aid or promote criminality, he continued that the police should not at any point in time indight or falsely parade innocent citizens as criminals in order to score cheap points, aggrandizements and acknowledgements. The roles of the legal practitioners were further highlighted "counsels are meant to tell the court the truth and not to mislead the court", he pinpointed that the ethics of the legal profession is very much lowered compared to what was obtainable years back. Hon. Justice gave kudos to the parliament for moving in the right direction, he also stated that Judges are not just meant to seat and preside over cases they are equally meant to make their personal findings before churning out judgements, he summed it all that "A system that has all components working will make it inhabitants healthy"(we all have a part to play to make the world a better place). No argument will be entertained from any of the counsels said his lordship as lot has been said and presented has it has really been a long and dicey legal battle within a short period of time.
His lordship proclaimed I have done my findings and for further clarification I will like to call upon the representative of the Economic and Financial Crime Agency to brief us on their findings, may your Lord be pleased the Agency's rep said as he rise to give his assertions, your Lord after we received your call 2weeks ago concerning this case we started to look into the financial activities of the defendants and all their associates, we found out that an account of the 1st defendant's cook houses hundreds of million, my Lord this is an officer earning 30,000 per month and 360,000 per annum. On interrogating the cook my Lord he confessed he was only asked and settled to sign a bank document and his passport photograph was taken and he as well follow them to the bank to complete registration process, he confessed that he is not aware of the happenings of the account. On further investigations we found out that the cars, houses and other properties obtained by the 1st and 2nd defendants has the transaction done from this said account my Lord in court today is the car dealer and estate manager of the defendants also with me is the bank statement of account which is in concomitant with the time the properties were obtained, we also have the receipts of the houses and cars as proof and we unraveled more houses, hotels and other properties purchased with the said Cook's name. The Hon. judge thanked the rep and commended the police force aswell, the defendants counsel pleaded that his clients are guilty in an attempt to have justice tempered with justice but it was too late, the court session was adjourned for 15minutes.
At adjournment Ola's father weaped seriously "if I had known I would have devoted more time to my children, Ola wouldn't have been secretive with everything" he lamented, myself and Ola's mother are always too interested in making money and catching with our businesses, we thought the best we can do for our children is to make lot of money for them to inherit, we have failed as parents our child prefer a diary to us Ola's dad remarks. It is indeed true from the preface that "It takes more than just giving birth to a child to become a parent, it's indeed a wrong assumption that due to the advancement of technology, parental responsibilities can be shelved aside, rather parenting should be at its climax due to the side effects of wards been exposed to such technologies. It's a recent trend parents now appear to their wards like every other person or like mere housemates or just co-inhabitants of same house. One has begin to fail as a parent if your wards would rather keep their problems to themselves than to share with them this is as a result of parents not devoting time to their wards and also overblowing the little stuffs their wards share with them."
Shortly after the Hon. Justice M.O. Adebiyi assumed his position on the bench, he noted that the police must be acknowledge as news flash had it during the 15minutes recess that the bandits hideout has been successfully invaded and they have all been arrested. From the evidence before me the Hon. Judge continued does anyone have any remarks to make, the D.I.G pleaded that the survival of his little kids be considered by the court the Judge threw the plea out, "what will become of Ola and Ashabi's parents if you talk of your kids, what a wicked world" the Judge said as he boiled in anger. The 1st defendant was sentenced to life in prison to serve as a deterrent to other public servants while the 2nd and 3rd defendants were given a jail term of 30years each and all the properties purchased by the I'll gotten wealth was confiscated by the government.
