U-Rights Magazine, an online magazine based in Cross River state, calls for submission of original poetry, fiction/non-fiction, and digital content for its first issue. The team publishes works from anywhere in the world three times a year, though it hopes to publish more of African Writings.
It accepts submissions via email. All submissions should be sent to
urightsmag@gmail.com. The subject line should be formatted as “Submission: first name, genre”. For example “Submission: James, Poetry”. And include a brief biographical note with your submission (150 words maximum) and how you want your name to appear if published.
All submissions should be sent as email attachments in docx./doc. format. The team does not accept submissions in PDF and EPUB formats. However, digital contents can be sent in MP3, MP4, WMV, and WMA. You don’t have to include a cover letter and including a brief statement about the theme of your piece(s) is optional.
Do not submit previously published work. Works published on your personal blogs are considered previously published. However, you can submit works uploaded to social media, as long as you remove it prior to publication. Simultaneous submissions are fine, but inform the team if your work is accepted elsewhere.
Specific guidelines for each category are available below:

- If your poem is published, it is automatically placed on consideration for inclusion in the yearly print anthology, Noise. The team will contact you if your work is selected.
