Poetry: ONLY IF YOU KNOW By: Issah Ameenat

The thunder bang and strikes,
Reminding her of the internal bleeding pains,
With dreams of a distant noise disturbing her sleep,
Tears pooled down her eyes profoundly
But she'd wanted to hold them back firmly.

Only if you know what it sounds like,
To never know the last dinner together will you dine,
To never know the last day of your smile,
To never know the tears can't save in a safe,
But the memories of the time is enough to put a smile back in space.

Do you know what it's like?
To endure the day_day painful sweet sorrow,
To never know if you'll get to see tomorrow,
To never know the beautiful smile will toil so low,
To never grow up as fast as a rabbit to hold your children bold.

Only if you know what it sounds like,
Here voice were so agitated,
She fights hard to handle her illness to zero,
Her parent had overdue bill needed to pay,
But her illness was consuming money and valuable time to bail.

Her life means more to her parents than money,
She kept racing the spaceless race,
She didn't forgo her dreams to conquer,
But finally tomorrow revealed itself,
And she give up as an hero.
