Recently, the IMF stated that the Nigeria's economy is nearing what experts believe is an 'inglorious collapse'. Frightening as the statement seems, behooves every self-conscious citizen to reflect on the Nigerian state since her transient democracy in 1999. By this submission, an analogy is posited looking at the Nigerian malaise, a case of the "Legal Husband and the Crafty Concubine."
The Analogy;
Marriage they say, is always full of ups and down, so it seems for *Mr. Patrick Desmond Popoola* who was in a Sixteen (16) years marriage with his wife Nigiri nee Abuji, who's beauty was enchanting and had potentiality of a good wife, with great offsprings. But despite its promising signs, marriage is not always a rosy affair until when patience, prayer and trust is shared between the husband and the wife they are bound to surmount any stumbling blocks. Alas! Mr. PDP was not lucky enough to get a patient wife and children who eloped with a new "angel". Why? maybe because of his own misplacement of priorities and mistakes as it happens in other marriages.
On March 28 2015, She (Nigeri nee Abuji) eloped with an acclaimed poverty-gutted man named *Alade Peter Ciroma* who promised heaven and earth to Nigeri that once she accepts him, all her potentials to be a good wife and a mother to all, will be achieved and prosperity will be the call of their marriage.
Four years down the marriage, little or no changes have been made, but all promises unkept. Meanwhile, Nigeri is ageing. Opportunity beckoned her to return to her former lover *Mr. PDP* but yet again she chose to stay with her new partner *Mr. APC.*

Intriguing isn't it? That the destiny of Madam Nigeri is tied to the legs of opportunist suitors, whose only purpose in the knots is to defile her and reduce her worth. But then, her unsuspecting kinsmen and kinswomen are desperate to give out her hand in marriage. Reasons being that Madam Ngeri is more than old enough and the tendency that her menopause status will arrive sooner than later is a major worry. Therefore, since all what they pray for are fruits of the womb, all way seems okay.
However, since the suitors are very much aware of the desperacy of Madam Nigeri's family in organizing a forceful union for her, they will rather woo the members of her family than winning the heart of the woman. Hence, Madam Ngeri became a commodity for auction.

Bearing in mind the 16 years of infidelity and the 4 years of callousness, with another four years revalidation of the latter's mandate, it is very crystal that madam Nigeri is helpless, neither were her suitors at fault. The real enemies are the sons and daughters of her own parents. Therefore the only gate out of her misery was erected before her father's house.
In clear terms, Madam Nigeri represents Nigeria as a reach state. The suitors or husbands represents the Nigerian politicians and parties that are always ready to milk the nation dry, while her family represents the Nigerian masses who are desperate for miraculous transformation. And the exposure of this desperacy has made them vulnerable in the hands of equally desperate politicans who does everything possible to either mislead them, or steal their mandates. Therefore, until the people stop being unrealistic, they will continue to be the catalyst of their own misfortunes. The earlier everyone starts seeing nation building as a gradual evolution through painstaking sacrifices and selfless services, the better.
