In the wake of some questions that were thrown at me few hours ago, about how people tend to always live their lives for others, I decided to write. The issue of general validation of behaviours or opinion assessments is human. At one point or the other, we always feel the onus to satisfy people in whatever we do. This burden is heavier on the shoulders of Africans and even more on those of the religious set. The former naturally boast of a moral-reach culture while the latter protect their sanctity. Thus, many lifestyles could be liken to parastatals with a large shares. As such, all stakeholders will always monitor the business transactions. Sadly, this ideology of public validation is archaic but still in existence. And our continuous recognition and practice of this irrelevant sacrifice has overtime, caused more harm than good. Therefore this total misplacement of value ought to have been dismissed on our template of social lexicon, long ago. Undoubtedly, this monster has robbed it's unsuspected members of vivaciousness. It is responsible for the rise in the depression and suicide cases, cyber crime, kidnapping, stealing and many other vices. To live your life based on general opinion will only reduce you to a robot. Because you are as good as a computer which only garbage in and out. The reason being that most of your decisions will be determined on how people want you to behave. Well, you may want to question me that no man is an island, hence, you need to seek other people's advice from time to time. Especially as we always use the phrase of "Experience Is The Best Teacher". Well, you are not totally wrong. It is true that a couple bears the child but the community trains him. That adage is sagacious. Bravo! But the interesting thing is that all of us are blessed with the medulla and conscience which allows us to be independent in decision making. Advice is good but common sense is better. That is why it is called an advice. It is either meant to be used or discarded. In the past, empires have been built on advice, nations have been built with public opinions, leaders have emerged from the general validation of such societies, and vice versa. In other words, the same water that domiciles the fish can betray it, and make it a prey. Your priority in life should be your happiness and respect must be your watchword. Respect they say, is reciprocal. When you live by this principle, you will always thrive without crossing parts. Stop judging yourself by what people say or think about you. The irony is that they might not be better off. You will be shocked when you find out. So live your life the best way you can and respect everyone around you. Don't lose it! Don't be depressed because of what they say about your skin. Your are beautiful! Don't steal because someone called you broke. Wait patiently. Don't commit suicide because everyone castigates you. You are not a demon! Embrace yourself and brace up. Appreciate every little achievement you have made and work on becoming a better you. Listen to advise but don't be stupid. Use your head! Thanks. 🏾 Maiyaki Abubakar Damilare(MAIYAKI)

The President, African Statistical Association, Prof. Dahud Shangodoyin, has said Nigeria’s dwindling economy led to loss of more jobs and an increase in unemployment rate to 23.1 per cent in June.
He noted and regretted that only 26 per cent of the 10 million applicants secured admissions into tertiary institutions between 2010 and 2015, with another 10.5 million children out of school, the largest globally.
Shangodoyin said the only way to resolve the impact of population explosion on sustainable development was to have developmental planning revolution in Nigeria.
“We must recognise major trends and issues in Nigeria’s population dynamics. To do this, we must conduct our long overdue national population and housing census. Some trends and issues (such as reduction of infant mortality, family planning, changes to immigration policies, contraception and many others) that have direct impact on the resources on which human life depends (lands, water and biodiversity) should be addressed.
As Allah saved Ismail from death & replaced him with a sacrificial ram. May He save us too from the tribulations of this world and grant us eternal stay in Al-Jannah. Eid Mubarak pic.twitter.com/KkSuCt2HAg
